A Pennsylvania Veteran’s Story
Frank served his country. When he needed help at home, he assumed his VA benefits didn’t cover in-home care. So his family kept paying — month after month — not knowing there was a benefit already waiting for them.
When Frank connected with Thema Home Care, our team helped him understand the VA’s Homemaker and Home Health Aide Program and walked alongside him through the process with his VA care team.
Frank was authorized for in-home care through the VA. In his case, those services no longer required out-of-pocket payment.
Frank’s outcome is not a guarantee. Every veteran’s situation is different. Authorization is determined by the VA based on individual clinical need.
If Any of This Sounds Familiar
If you’re helping care for a veteran parent right now, you already know how overwhelming it feels. The appointments. The daily tasks. The worry about what comes next. And the cost.
Your parent is struggling with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, or getting around the house
You're trying to help while managing your own family and career at the same time
You're not sure what VA benefits actually cover — or how to find out
You've thought about home care but don't know what it costs or who to trust
You want your parent to stay home — not move to a facility
You feel like you're carrying this alone and no one has given you a clear answer
If even one of these resonates — this page was written for you.

Meal prep and assistance with eating.

Essential to comfort and cleanliness.
Getting around and to appointments.
Reducing caregiver burden on the family.
Services are determined by the VA based on individual clinical assessment. Not all services are guaranteed for every veteran.
