Thema Home Care Beginnings

Thema Home Care began when founder Justin Currie was noticing his grandmother, Germaine, struggling with her normal daily living activities. Typical house chores, like cooking and doing laundry, became more difficult, as well as personal hygiene routines.

This was tough for Justin and his family to watch. Seeing the woman that they had admired for their entire lives begin to lose ability to perform normal activities was heartbreaking. The last thing they wanted was to have to bring Germaine to live in a nursing home, and so Justin began to search for other solutions.

Justin decided to look for a caregiver, providing Germaine and his family with the best of both worlds: their grandmother could remain in her home, yet their worries could ease knowing she was receiving the right assistance. With the help of her caregiver, Germaine was able to remain happy and comfortable in her home for several years, until her eventual transition to an assisted living facility.

Thema Home Care Is Born

With the fulfillment of carefully selecting the right aide for his grandmother, Justin decided that he wanted to help other families with similar needs. And so, Thema Home Care was created.

Serving the cities of Downingtown, West Chester, and Malvern, our home care services allow your loved one to go about their normal routines with the extra assistance he or she may need along the way.

Home care services provide you with peace of mind, knowing that your parent or relative is being given the correct care, while you can still go about your normal routines, as well!

Meet the Thema Home Care Leadership Team

Justin Currie

Founder/CEO

Justin grew up in a tiny farming town in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada—where the winters are long, the work ethic is strong, and apparently, he still mispronounces a few words (you can blame the Canadian accent).

He’s been an entrepreneur for over 15 years and has spent the last 8+ building in the healthcare space. In 2017, he founded Thema Home Care after seeing how hard it was for families—especially those dealing with dementia—to find care that felt personal, not clinical. His mission: bring small-town heart into a premium, highly specialized home care experience.

When he’s not running the business, Justin’s usually outdoors—climbing mountains, fly fishing, or pretending he’s better at golf than he is. He lives in Downingtown, PA with his fiancée Sarah, their three rescue dogs, and their baby girl, Sawyer.

Jenn Allen

Executive Director

Jenn has over 20 years of experience in senior care, including work in continuing care retirement communities, independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and adult day programs. Throughout her career, she has held various leadership roles such as licensed nursing home administrator, personal care home administrator, director of social services, community resource manager, and activity director.

Jenn’s passion for serving older adults is evident in her work, including opening two senior living communities on the Main Line. In 2024, she joined the Thema team as executive director and now oversees all company operations.

In her spare time, Jenn enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters in Downingtown.

She began to find a passion for supporting individuals with dementia and their families and later became a memory care director in Chester County. She has worked in home care since 2018 and enjoys coordinating resources for seniors, educating the community about aging and dementia, and connecting with professional partners.

Jessica is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and a professional member of the Aging Life Care Association. She is also a volunteer community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association.

When she is not working, Jessica loves spending time outside with her family, shopping, and doing word puzzles.
